Additional functions for our devices of the series SMART, STYLE and BASE
The pre-installed DBA (DEUTA Building Automation) driver
The pre-installed DBA (DEUTA Building Automation) driver
We have developed a series of special software functions for our VL SMART and VL STYLE series control units and for the VL BASE type IoT controllers in the form of a driver installed on the device, the so-called DBA (DEUTA Building Automation driver).
The DBA supports you in communicating with special protocols, interfaces and devices.
Using the example of DALI, the DBA together with the AL-511-00 IP-DALI-BRIDGE V2 offers extensive support with e.g. addressing DALI ballasts. So you can address DALI ballasts, exchange addresses, assign groups, write scene values etc. without any knowledge of the DALI command set.
In the case of EnOcean, you can interpret, process and / or visualize the data received via one or more EnoDisc (s).
The DBA is pre-installed on each of the devices and works internally on the basis of MOBBUS TCP. The registers of the DBA are accessed via the local host / 127.0.0.1 .. The complete register tables can be found in the Users Guide in the Download area at the end of this page.
In the following you will find the functions that are currently available (more are constantly being developed, please ask us):
The EnoDisc communicates via ESP3 (EnOcean Serial Protocol) via Ethernet with our operating devices (SMART / STYLE) or IoT controllers (BASE). However, this data cannot be used in an application without knowledge of the ESP3 data structure and its meaning.
The DBA now offers the function of interpreting the data based on the EnOcean profiles, and then in standard formats such as Display temperature [° C] or voltage [V] or process it further.

For projects and applications in which no connection of sensors or actuators via EnOcean radio is desired or possible, we offer the option of a wired DALI connection.
Our AL-511-00 IP-DALI-BRIDGE V2 with Ethernet interface (RJ45) and a DALI master interface (V1) is used for this.
Up to 256 IP-DALI-BRIDGES can be operated on a control unit of the series SMART or STYLE or a VL-700 BASE 1.
with every FLEX light control
With this function you can send any DALI commands transparently via the EnOcean USB stick on the USB port of the operating device.
You have a wireless Modbus-to-DALI gateway available to issue commands to DALI ballasts at one of our lighting controllers with the option FLEX.
Each of our operating devices from the SMART and STYLE series, as well as the BASE, supports communication via MODBUS TCP via the Ethernet interface (RJ45).
All devices work, if we deliver them to you, already configured in the background as a MODBUS slave.
In this option, the register table provides an area for communication with an EnOcean DALI controller:
Area:
1x unsigned int, EnOcean destination address
1x unsigned short, DALI command
You can do this from an external source, e.g. a higher-level control, or write to the register via a user interface created with jMobile and thus send DALI commands.
MODBUS EnOcean gateway for switches and sliders
With this function, you can send switch telegrams (RPS) and telegrams that correspond to the measured value of 0..100% of a brightness sensor via the EnOcean USB stick on the USB port of the operating device. You can switch and dim any actuator that understands these standard formats. So e.g. DALI lights on our EnOcean DALI controllers of the BL-201 and BL-202 series.
Each of our operating devices from the SMART and STYLE series supports communication via MODBUS TCP via the Ethernet interface (RJ45).
All devices work, if we deliver them to you, already configured in the background as a MODBUS slave.
With this option, the register table offers two main areas:
Area 1:
128 light switches, each with buttons A0, A1, B0 and B1.
Area 2:
64 sliders, value range 0..254
You can do this from an external source, e.g. a higher-level control, or write to the register via a user interface created with jMobile and thus send EnOcean telegrams.
DALI Dimlevel from BL-201/202 FLEX EnOcean DALI controller
For projects and applications in the field of energy management, it is necessary to record the current consumption of the lighting.
With this function you have the option of reading back the dimlevels currently saved there from one or more lighting controls with the FLEX option.
Each of our operating devices from the SMART and STYLE series supports communication via MODBUS TCP via the Ethernet interface (RJ45).
All devices work, if we deliver them to you, already configured in the background as a MODBUS slave.
With this option, the register table offers the following areas:
Area 1 / Holding Register:
Register 403000: readback interval in milliseconds. Min. 250 ms, default 2000 ms
Register 403001/403002: EnOcean target address of the light control to be read back 0, unsigned int
to
Register 403255/403256: EnOcean target address of the light control 128 to be read back, unsigned int
Register 403256: Reply type of the light control to be read back 0, unsigned short
to
Register 403384: Reply type of light control 128 to be read back, unsigned short
Reply type:
0x01 = The dim levels of the 16 + 1 DALI groups are read back into the MODBUS input register (group 17 = BROADCAST)
0x02 = The DI levels of the DALI short addresses 0..31 are read back into the MODBUS input register
0x04 = The DI levels of the DALI short addresses 32.63 are read back into the MODBUS input register
0x08 = The DI levels of the DALI short addresses 0, 1 and 2 are read back into the MODBUS input register
Area 2:
MODBUS INPUT register
The status of the read back values are entered continuously from address / register 303001 (unsigned byte).
The read back values / dimlevel are entered continuously from address / register 303257 (unsigned short).
