The new sensor of the type EnoSense People Counter offers the possibility to recognize passing people in both directions and to send the current count value via radio (EnOcean).
The sensor electronics, which are built into a plastic housing, are attached with a double-sided adhesive pad over the door (vertical detection) or on a door frame (horizontal detection).
Depending on your requirements, the sensor is available in a black, white or beige housing. In this case, the power is supplied by two internal AA batteries. Depending on the application, these typically last 5 years or more.
The information is transmitted via the EnOcean wireless standard (EEP: MSC, 47-D1-07-10)
The following information is currently available for the evaluation:
• Count value (with overflow): 8 bit, 0 .. 255
• Battery voltage: 8 bit [mV/20]
On request, we can also adapt the EEP used in large projects.
The sensor technology used in the EnoSense People Counter recognizes people passing by. The direction is recognized and the count value of the sensor is increased or decreased in each case.
The EnoSense People Counter sends this information after the counter value has been changed (if necessary, change for energy saving / optimization in the next firmware revision).

Important:
The sensor does not use a camera.
The EnoSense People Counter transmits the current meter reading wirelessly via EnOcean to an EnOcean radio receiver, such as our EnoDisc®. Please refer to the following table for the data format.

The EnoSense People Counter is powered by two internal AA batteries.
The sensor can detect people passing in both directions either vertically above a door or horizontally mounted on a frame. The assembly is done with double-sided adhesive tape. This is included in the scope of delivery.
Should it be necessary, the batteries can easily be changed. The remaining battery voltage is transferred to the cloud application with each telegram and can be evaluated there for predictive maintenance.
As an optional service, we offer you the pre-configuration of all system components. This also includes the EnoSense People Counter.
Below you can see the essential work steps that we take on for you for a better understanding (steps may differ depending on the sensor type):
You provide us with a table in which you state the desired marking for each sensor. You also specify which VL-700 BASE is to process this sensor data. For this purpose, we will provide you with a template in consultation, which you then fill in with your data and send back to us.
The sensors are configured by us according to your specifications.
In this step, the EnOcean ID is assigned to the serial number of the sensor. This ensures at all times that, in the event of a possible fault, we can take the appropriate action right down to the device.
We mark the sensor by applying a label (25 x 12 mm) to the protective film of the solar cell. This will be printed by us according to your specifications. After installation, you can easily remove this label together with the protective film of the solar cell without leaving any residue.
Finally, the recorded sensor data is imported into the VL-700 BASE and we test it for functionality 24 hours a day. In this way we ensure that the sensors work as ordered, e.g. with regard to your EnOcean ID, the desired transmission frequency and the required sensitivity.
We will provide you with the configuration file created in this way when the VL-700 BASE is delivered.
In the end, you have a fully tested and executable system available upon delivery.
Prerequisite: You also need the configuration service for the VL-700 BASE and the required EnoDisc®, as the VL-700 BASE requires the data such as the IP configuration of the EnoDisc and the data for the cloud interface in order to be ready for use immediately upon delivery .
